All the activities of Manthan revolve around its prime objective of identifying physically challenged girls, nurture them by providing atmosphere conducive to their development, educate them so as to regain self confidence, rehabilitate them and of course qualify them to be a part of the main stream as also make them good honest citizens of India.
Education plays the most important role in achieving this objective and so maximum emphasis is given to the same.
IT IS COMPULSORY FOR ALL GIRLS GETTING ADMISSION TO MANTHAN TO FURTHER THEIR STUDIES
Manthan has set up primary school as well as secondary school in its own premises. The schools are recognized and approved by Government.
The doors of the schools are opened to even the boys and girls of near by villages including Hajipur where Manthan has establish its roots.
After 23 years, a few of the girls have passed secondary level and are admitted to Higher secondary and even degree course where as some are seeking their Masters as also LAW degree Such girls prosecuting their studies, commute to KALOL by a school bus and enable them to make their dreams come true.
Teachers take personal care of each student, even takes extra classes to strengthen the weak subject like English, .Mathematics etc. .Trained retired teachers who know their subject well also give honorary service and make these girls study hard and succeed in the examination.
The annual results of the school always hover around 60% or more.
The information about the number of Girls admitted to Manthan and those who passed primary secondary and higher secondary schools and college is now on record with Manthan. Any one interested in getting this information can have the same by requesting Manthan
Second important emphasis is on Health care and for which Manthan strives to the best. Health check up camps are organized every year for general diseases and special camps are organized to identify the girls who can be restored their physical disability The girls who are found good enough to undergo medical intervention are identified and operated during the summer vacations. so as NOT disturb them in their studies
ALL THE EXPENSES ON OPERATION AND POST OPERATIVE TREATMENT INCLUDING PHYSIOTHERAPY EXERCISES ARE BORN BY SEEKING DONORS WHO ARE WILLING TO DONATE FOR SUCH NOBLE PURPOSE.
It is observed that the parents and relatives of these girls are not financially sound to remain present at the time of operation or attend the patient after the operation. MANTHAN THERE FORE BEARS ALL THE EXPENSES ON TRANSPORT AND STAY OF SUCH PARENTS/GUARDIANS TO ENABLE THEM TO LOOK AFTER THEIR DAUGHTERS.
Manthan also has firm belief that Manthan and its girls should NOT remain only the receivers but should also be contributors to the society and as such FREE MEDICAL CAMPS are organized on every THIRD SUNDAY of each month where the villagers from about 9 surrounding villages take benefit of the camp. The villagers are also provided FREE medicines as prescribed by the Doctors and those patients who need consultation of SPECIALISTS are provided a letter of reference to suitable MD doctors who take care of such patients at discounted fees.
Example of medical intervention is personified by GOPI aged 10 years who was born with both legs twisted. She was operated in 2008 and now she is normal with increase in height as can be seen from the two photographs provided here under

GENERATING SELF CONFIDENCE
The girls need to generate SELF CONFIDENCE to face and compete in the world of to-day. This requires all to gather new technique and the same is implemented by:
Entrusting responsibilities of day to day work, Providing training in to- days area of scientific developments such as Computer Training; in areas of HOME SCIENCE so as to be a good house wives; Make them present cultural programs at National and International levels with a view to relieve them of inferiority complex and build self confidence
Promote them to participate in State and National competitions for Physically challenged persons
Train them in performing arts of Music Dance and playing musical instruments etc.
Many of these girls belong to Farming families and they are also educated in the areas of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture etc.
Bhagvati Desai was born with one hand and the other a stub below the elbow..(Koni). She was encouraged to participate in a TRACKING program. The team faced a precarious situation when they were required to cross a ravine by traversing the same by hanging on the rope, Quite a few able bodied participants refused to be the first..Bhagvati took up the challenge and with ONE able hand and the other stub, she traversed the ravine which can be seen in the following photograph.
WINGLESS BIRDS FLEW TO USA
In 2006, 13 Physically challenged girls, TWO of whom could NOT even stand up on crutches with Managing Trustee, Hon Secretary and Hon.
